Just about every year I start a new quest for the best version of a homemade treat I can find. One year it was chocolate pudding. Here’s the winner. Happily, it’s as easy as it is yummy.
Ingredients
3 ounces unsweetened* chocolate. Note, whatever’s in the pantry will work but, once you try this recipe, you might want to keep some really good chocolate on hand for the opportune moment when a delicious dish of pudding sounds perfect.
½ cup granulated sugar
1 ¾ cup milk
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons corn starch
1 teaspoon vanilla
*If substituting semi-sweet or milk chocolate, reduce sugar to ¼ cup.
Instructions
Put all ingredients into medium saucepan. With burner on medium high, whisk constantly until thick and creamy. Keep mixture moving across the bottom of the pan to avoid scorching.
Serve warm or chilled ~ with homemade whipping cream for the whole experience!
Looks so yummy! It reminds me my favourite chocolate mousse when I was in italy!
