Smart sweet treats (2-ingredient recipe)

I really think the worst part of the wayward binge is not the calories or water weight. I think it’s having to reset the “fat head,” as Adele Puhn calls it, and the sweet tooth. ~That is, having to spend the next five days overcoming cravings again.

Here are two dessert treats without a heavy carb load or budget busting calorie count. And they’re inexpensive.

Chilled and Smooth Summer Mixed Berries

In a blender, food processor or, my favorite, a Ninja Bullet, blend until smooth 200 grams frozen mixed berries. You may want to thaw them briefly or add a little water to help the blend. Pour mixture into a bowl and stir in 12 grams of vanilla whey protein of your choice (Gold Standard for me.) Serve immediately or refreeze slightly before serving.

Approximately 103 calories, 12 net carbs, 10 grams protein.

Black Sesame Rolled Cookies

If nothing will satisfy but grains, this crunchy cookie may be the answer. Three of these add just 104 calories, 15.5 net carbs, and 2.2 grams of protein. I have also seen these in a Fortune Cookie variety. Fun!
